Buhner (not injury related) notched 21 points (7-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and one assist across 20 minutes in Germany's 83-58 FIBA World Cup win over Mali on Monday.
Buhner torched the nets from beyond the arc Monday, finishing as one of only two players to score in double figures for Germany. Although she didn't offer much outside the scoring column, the 22-year-old led all players in scoring. She had her contract temporarily suspended by the Fire ahead of the World Cup, and her next chance to play in the WNBA will come against Phoenix on Sept. 17. For now, Buhner and Germany will focus on Tuesday's game against Korea, during which the two sides will fight for the right to face Belgium in the quarterfinals Thursday.
