What the columns mean
#
Rank on the column the board is sorted by, 1 = most. The rank belongs to the team, not the row, so flipping to low-to-high counts down to #1 at the foot. Ties share a rank.
Red-eye games
Team-games scoring 7 or higher on the Fatigue Index — the schedule's true red-eye spots.
Avg index
The team's mean Fatigue Index across all of its season team-games.
Toughest spot
The team's single highest-scoring team-game — its index, the matchup, and the date, linked to the game.

How it's counted

Red-eye games are team-games scoring 7 or higher on the Fatigue Index — the schedule's true red-eye spots.

The Fatigue Index is a point-based, additive score from 0–10, computed from each team's own schedule: rest, the prior travel leg, body-clock shift, whether the game ends a dense stretch, and whether it's on the road.

It measures schedule tax, not outcomes — it is not a prediction of how a team will play, and games can share a night (one team's tough spot is often the other's rest). The toughest spots are team-games, so one game can appear twice, once per side.
